Well done!

Und so war es für Selin selbst:

“I joined the English Language Competition this year again. I had participated last year as well and ended 4th place. This time however I ended up getting 2nd place. The maximum of participants are 20 and we were 14 people. I will explain each round:

We first pulled a random number and went outside waiting for each our turn. The English assistant pretty much talked to us whilst waiting for each round. We started off with an introduction of ourselves in which we had to describe our relationship with the English language and had to keep it brief meaning a maximum of 1 minute. This part wasn’t graded by the jury.

The official first round of this competition consists of a prompt, in which we had to interact with the English speaker spontaneously and initiate. The topics resemble fever dreams. This is my favorite part as I had a blast.
In the 2nd round we were grouped as 3 having to debate for the given topic and the English speaker would lead and ask questions. Now for round 1 and 2, contestants who didn’t make it get eliminated which leaves us 5 remaining finalists.
In the last round, we are each given two topics to choose from and have 15 minutes to prepare our speech. The speech has to cover three bullet points and if you run out of time during the speech, they will hold up a sign.
This is probably the most difficult one out the of the bunch but I managed to pull through.

Overall I can say that I had an amazing experience all filled with positivity. I had so much fun despite feeling nervous at times which is normal, even for someone who’s good at it.”
